HomeHive Overview:
HomeHive’s purpose was to provide sustainable, smart beehives at the personal housing and local level through to commercial solutions. By combing novel materials, manufacturing methods and smart technology the goal was to encourage bee growth and distribution, while enabling active monitoring for unique problems such as invasive species bee mites.

Product Design & Manufacturing
Within HomeHive and working closely with the terrific Oscar Bråathen who oversaw the external design and overall organic aesthetic. I was primarily tasked with mechanical functionality, internal hardware, materials, cost and manufacturing.
Product Concept
Designed to be modular, the internal fans both enabled and restricted bee access for maintenance and transport. Integrating solar cells on the top, novel honeycomb slat design and AI enabled cameras facilitated remote monitoring on hive health, climate management and honey production.
